No injuries in 2 alarm duplex fire

It took firefighters less than 20 minutes to put out a fire at a duplex on the east side of Colorado Springs Wednesday morning.

The fire started around 4:30 Wednesday (7/23/14) morning in the 1300 block of Potter Drive. That’s near Palmer Park Blvd. and Academy Blvd.

Both families got out of the duplex safely and no one was hurt.

The fire department tweeted a picture of one of its firefighters giving oxygen to a kitten at the scene of the fire.

The fire department says it arrived at the fire three minutes after receiving the call, and had the flames under control in 19 minutes.
