Remains of bank robbery suspect pulled from Arkansas river

Pueblo Police say the body of a bank robbery suspect who jumped into the Arkansas River has been recovered.

Investigators say Jeffrey Cathcart (40) jumped into the river Thursday afternoon after he robbed a nearby Security Service Federal Credit Union.

Police say Cathcart’s body was spotted Sunday evening. Water rescue crews searched until dark and then resumed the search Monday morning.

Cathcart’s body was found caught up in a low point in the middle of the river.

Police say the exact amount of money that was stolen during Thursday’s robbery was found on Cathcart’s body.
