Pikes Peak Hospice warns of possible phone scam

Pikes Peak Hospice and Palliative Care says a medical review company is posing as survey takers for the organization.

In a news release, Pikes Peak Hospice says that the survey is not legitimate and that it is not on behalf of Pikes Peak Hospice.

The organization says one client reports being asked to provide a credit card number to process the survey during the call. The client did not provide the information to the caller.

President and CEO Martha Barton says that if you receive a call requesting personal or financial information, you should decline to provide the information and ask for a call back number. Barton says calls of this nature are likely part of a phone scam.

Anyone who did receive the call and agreed to provide a credit card number is urged to report the incident to the Colorado Springs Police Department at 719-444-7000.
