Man who killed stepdaughter won’t face criminal charges
Charges won’t be filed against a man who police say accidentally shot and killed his stepdaughter.
The 4th Judicial District Grand Jury announced Wednesday that it finished its investigation and Daniel Meade will not face criminal charges in the death of Kiana O’Neil in December 2013. Police said that Meade accidentally shot O’Neil, thinking she was an intruder.
The shooting happened in the family’s home on Ascendant Drive in Colorado Springs.
The case is now closed, according to the grand jury.
