Police: man attacked outside downtown 7-Eleven

Colorado Springs Police are investigating a disturbance that took place early Monday morning.

Officers arrived at the 7-Eleven at 3 N. Tejon St. at about 1:38 a.m. They found a man with a large cut on his head. The man was also armed with a machete.

Officers investigating the disturbance found that the man was the victim of an alleged assault. He was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Police say several people involved with the initial disturbance later returned to the scene. They were arrested after officers say they found meth and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle they were riding in.

The motive for the assault is unclear and an investigation is ongoing.
