Hearing set for suspect in teen’s disappearance

A man arrested on charges of murder and sexual assault in the disappearance of a 19-year-old Pueblo woman has a court hearing scheduled in Adams County.

Twenty-three-year-old Christopher Adam Waide is scheduled to appear in court in Brighton on Monday.

He’s being held in the disappearance of Lea Chali Porter. She was last seen while visiting a friend or friends in the Denver suburb of Westminster.

Her body hasn’t been found, but Westminster police have said Waide is cooperating in the search.

Waide was arrested Thursday. He is being held without bond.

Investigators have said Waide and Porter attended the same high school and recently reconnected on Facebook.
