Westminster man arrested in Pueblo teen’s disappearance

Police have arrested a 23-year-old man on charges of first-degree murder and sexual assault after a teenager disappeared in the Denver suburb of Westminster.

Christopher Adam Waide was arrested Thursday in connection with the June 5 disappearance of 19-year-old Lea Chali Porter. Westminster police spokeswoman Cheri Spottke tells The Denver Post that Waide is cooperating with investigators and “is helping with finding the body.”

The court file on the case has been sealed.

Spottke says Waide and Porter attended the same high school, and they recently reconnected on Facebook.

Porter, who lived in Pueblo, was last known to be visiting friends in Westminster. Her car was found in the parking lot of Waide’s Westminster apartment. Waide is being held without bond and is scheduled to appear in court Monday.
