Black Forest residents will reflect on fire one year later

El Paso County is hosting a community picnic Wednesday night (6/11/14) for those who were affected by the most destructive wildfire in state history one year ago.

It is going on from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Black Forest Regional Park Wednesday.

County commissioner Darryl Glenn said that this is a great opportunity for the Black Forest Community to gather, remember and reflect on the challenges over the past year and the strides made so far.

The picnic includes live music, a free ice cream social and more. But there will also be booths with information on rebuilding and recovery efforts, the county said. Parks staff will also give tours of mitigation and recovery efforts around the park.
