Woman, 70, kicks gun from would-be carjackers hand

A would-be carjacker was stopped in her tracks Friday (5/30/14) by a Colorado Springs woman who refused to become a victim.

It happened outside the Promenade Shops at Briargate, 1800 Briargate Parkway, at around 1 p.m.

Police say a 70-year-old victim walked to her car when the woman approached her. They say she pulled out a gun and started to get into the victims car.

Police say that’s when the victim kicked the gun out of the woman’s hand.

The would-be carjacker picked up her gun and ran off.

The victim wasn’t hurt.

Police say the suspect was 30 to 50 years old with a heavy build. She was wearing all black clothing and had dark hair.
