Flash flood warning cancelled, highway 24 now open

UPDATES:

1:05 p.m. – A flash flood warning that was issued for the Waldo Canyon burn scar has been cancelled and US 24 through Ute Pass is reopening.

12:52 p.m. – Highway 24 remains closed. A sea of cars is parked on the highway waiting for it to reopen. Avoiding Ute Pass is highly advised.

12:43 p.m. – Severe thunderstorm warning for northeastern Teller and northwestern El Paso Counties until 1:15 p.m.

A flash flood warning that was issued for the Waldo Canyon burn scar has been cancelled and US 24 through Ute Pass is reopening.

In addition to the flash flooding, a funnel cloud was spotted in Florissant Sunday morning.

There are no confirmed reports of the funnel having touched down.
