Suspected drunk driver causes crash with injuries

Colorado Springs Police arrested a man accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that sent two people to the hospital Sunday night (5/18/14).

The crash happened around 9:45 p.m. on Research Pkwy., about half a block west of Powers Blvd.

Police say Christopher Gardner of Colorado Springs rear ended another car, causing the other driver to lose control.

The driver of the second car was taken to the hospital to treat non life-threatening injuries. A passenger in Gardner’s car was also taken to the hospital to treat a non life-threatening serious bodily injury.

Police arrested Gardner on suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol and vehicular assault, among other traffic charges.
