Second arrest made in deadly Security shooting

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said it has made a second arrest Tuesday night (5/6/14) in connection to a deadly shooting in Security.

The sheriff’s office said 32-year-old Brian Springsted was arrested Tuesday. The sheriff’s SWAT team executed a search warrant at Springsted’s home in the 100 block of Ely Street in Widefield, but he was not there, the sheriff’s office said.

Springsted was found later near the Fountain Valley Shops at Highway 85 and Main Street, the sheriff’s office said.

Springsted is being held without bond Wednesday morning, facing first-degree murder charges.
