Wear Red Hero: Air Force Pioneer

Brigadier General James M. Rhodes Jr. graduated with the first class from the Air Force Academy in 1959.

In a career that spanned 31-years, 350 combat missions and over 4,000 hours in the air, Rhodes became one of 15 members of the inaugural class to reach the rank of General.

Rhodes passed away in December, but he was honored in a ceremony at the Air Force Academy on Friday.
