Police say hash oil extractor found in apartment was a danger to children who live there

A man is facing charges for marijuana manufacturing and child abuse after a homemade butane hash oil extractor was found in the living room of their apartment.

Police were called to check on three kids who live in the apartment at 4310 E. Pikes Peak Ave. at 11:05 a.m. on Thursday, April 17, 2014.

Police say all three children are under the age of seven.

Investigators say they found a homemade butane hash oil extractor in the living room along with suspected marijuana and hash oil. They say the items were accessible to the children and very dangerous due to the butane used in the apartment.

Officers say a marijuana grow was also found in the apartment.

The children’s father could face drug charges. Their mother was cited for child abuse.
