Longmont girl hospitalized with .40 alcohol level

Longmont police are trying to determine how a 16-year-old girl got alcohol after she was hospitalized with a blood-alcohol level five times the legal threshold for being under the influence.

Police Cmdr. Jeff Satur says the girl was taken by ambulance to Longmont United Hospital after she was found last week by a limousine driver in the back of the vehicle with a blood-alcohol level of .40. The legal limit for people driving a vehicle is .08.

According to the Longmont Times-Call, the driver found her after attending a limousine party for a 14-year-old girl.

The drunk teenager’s blood alcohol content was so high that she could have died, but she was able to get help in time.
