Colorado health insurance tally expected

Colorado health authorities hope to have a final tally Tuesday on how many people signed up for insurance in time to comply with the new health law.

Connect For Health Colorado says it saw brisk lines but no technical glitches on the final day to sign up Monday.

Colorado has already met baseline federal enrollment goals, but the state is short of its most optimistic projections.

By mid-March, 106,000 Coloradans had signed up for private insurance since the exchange opened in October. Another 151,000 had enrolled in Medicaid.

Colorado has about 740,000 people without health insurance.
