Grass fire burns more than 100 acres in eastern El Paso County

Eight different agencies spent Wednesday night fighting a grass fire that burned more than 100 acres near Peyton Highway and Drennen Road.

The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office said it was 100 percent contained around 9:30 Wednesday night.

The first call came in around 8:30, the sheriff’s office said.

The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
