Fire destroys couple’s home in Peyton

A Peyton couple is looking for a new place to live after a fire destroyed their home Monday (3/24) morning.

Firefighters said the fire began around 1 a.m. Monday in the 19000 block of Scott Road in Peyton.

They said the fire began on the front deck of the home. The residents tried to put it out, but could not, firefighters said.

The couple was able to get out safely. The Red Cross is working with them to find a place to stay.
