Independent Black Forest Fire report released

The report outlines findings of an investigation prompted by KRDO NewsChannel 13 reports on the fire and accusations from El Paso County Sheriff Terry Maketa. The report was completed by an independent investigator hired by the Black Forest Fire Protection District.

It all started after Black Forest Fire Chief Bob Harvey told KRDO NewsChannel 13’s Jonathan Petramala that the fire was intentionally set.

Sheriff Maketa held a news conference Friday afternoon, voicing his disappointment with the report. He called it “garbage” multiple times.
