Drivers still cautious on snowy roads

Although I-25 was a smoother ride compared to Saturday, south of Pueblo drivers still faced slick conditions.

“Once you go to Pueblo, the snow started getting a little heavier, a little heavier and the roads started getting a little slicker, a little more snow,” said driver John Chapman.

Drivers tended to stick to the right lane as the snow stayed on the left side.

“You can tell people were afraid, driving a little slow and you had to get over in the slick lane to pass them,” said Chapman.

The windshield wipers were in full force as snowy slush splashed car windows. Dick Stenzel and his wife were on their way to Johnstown from Arizona. They had problems with their washer fluid.

“It’s been so cold when we’ve been using the windshield wiper that when we spray it, it doesn’t spray anymore,” said Stenzel.

Luckily, KRDO NewsChannel 13 meteorologists say it will be warmer on Monday (3/3/14).

“I’m glad to see the moisture and I’ll be glad when it warms up the rest of the week,” said Chapman.
