Position: Director
Job Purpose and Objective:
Directs / Technical Directs Newscasts and other Programs.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Direct / Technical Direct newscasts as assigned
Direct / Technical Direct live cut-ins and pre-produced News segments, promos and programs as assigned
Work with the Executive Director, Producers and Crew to advance Shows technically and creatively
Complete working knowledge of systems, equipment and attitudes necessary to deliver polished Newscasts
Train new Directors, Audio Ops and Graphics Ops
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Education: 2 year degree in television production or equivalent experience
Experience: At least 2 years demonstrable experience as Director / Technical Director in a medium market television News Production
Working knowledge of Video Production systems and techniques
Working knowledge of Audio Production systems and techniques
Working knowledge of Graphics systems and techniques
Demonstrable, working knowledge of Studio Lighting systems and techniques
Outstanding verbal communication skills
Ability to function professionally in high-pressure situations
Detail oriented with problem solving skills
Good hearing and eyesight required
Must be comfortable climbing ladders
May need to lift and carry up to 50 pounds
Bilingual – English/Spanish an asset
Must pass the NPG Pre-employment Drug Test and Background Check
