Springs man accused of advertising underage girls for sex

The Colorado Springs Police Department says it has arrested a man for his involvement in a child sex trafficking ring.

Police say Kavion Lydell Powell, 28, was arrested on Friday (2/14/14).

CSPD says this investigation began in September of 2013 when a man called police and told them that he believed his daughter might be involved in juvenile prostitution. They say investigators started looking into it and found that several underage girls from Colorado Springs were being trafficked across the Front Range.

Police accuse Powell of advertising underage girls for sex, transporting them to complete the acts and collecting the money.

Powell is facing charges including inducement of child prostitution, soliciting for child prostitution, procurement of a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.
