Mother accused of leaving baby on train tracks could face serious charges
A Pueblo mother accused of leaving her baby on the train tracks Friday afternoon could face attempted murder charges.
Jessica Sloan, 31, was interviewed by detectives then arrested. Booking charges at the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office Detention Center include child abuse and reckless endangerment. Ultimately though, it’s up to the district attorney’s office to decide which charges to pursue.
Witnesses told police that Sloan set her 2-week-old child on the tracks while trains were running in the area.
The child was taken to the hospital and is okay, according to police.
Sloan’s bond has been set at more than $500,000.
