Springs stabbing victim was Fort Carson soldier

Colorado Springs Police have released the name of a man who was stabbed to death at the Villages at Westmeadow Apartments, 1230 Encinitas Point, on Tuesday, February 4, 2014.

Investigators say Brandon Alfonzo Jones, 24, was stabbed during a fight. Jones was dead by the time police got there. His death was ruled a homicide after an autopsy was performed on the morning of Wednesday, February 5, 2014.

Fort Carson confirms Jones was a Specialist at the Mountain Post. Spc. Jones was a Financial Management Technician and was a member of the 43rd Sustainment Brigade. He had been in the military for nearly two years and was originally from Columbia, South Carolina.

Police say they have talked to everyone who was involved, but so far no arrests have been made.

There have been three homicides in Colorado Springs so far in 2014.
