Everest cutting jobs in Colorado Springs

Everest University Online is laying off 175 workers in Colorado Springs.

The company confirmed the layoffs on Tuesday, February 4, 2014.

Most of the employees who are losing their jobs work with prospective and newly-enrolled students in the admissions and student finance divisions.

A spokesperson with the university’s parent company says the workforce reduction is due to slowing enrollment.

Pink slips went out on Tuesday. Everyone who was laid off will receive a severance package.
