Water main break causes sinkhole

A water main break in Colorado Springs caused a sinkhole in the road Sunday night.

It happened on Kodiak Dr. and Monterey Rd., near Circle Dr. and Hancock Expy.

Colorado Springs Utilities said it affected 20 customers who were without water.

Crews worked through the night to repair the water main break. They hoped to finish work by sunrise on Monday.

Traffic was able to go around the sinkhole.

The cause of the water main break is unknown at this time.
