Blowing snow closes some Colo. mountain roads

Blowing snow is making travel dangerous in parts of Colorado’s mountains.

Rabbit Ears Pass, Loveland Pass and U.S. 285 in South Park were among the highways closed because of the severe conditions Tuesday.

The National Weather Service says strong winds and falling snow have created near whiteout conditions in some areas. Wind gusts of around 60 mph are possible on mountain passes. The snow is expected to gradually diminish in the afternoon.
