Conejos County school threat investigated, deemed unfounded

Rumors about a possible threat of school violence prompted an investigation in Conejos County.

In a news release, the Conejos County Sheriff’s Office says that the Antonito Police Department received calls from concerned parents about the possible threat involving South Conejos Head Start, Guadalupe Elementary and Antonito High School.

The calls began coming in Sunday night (1/12/14).

The sheriff’s office says all three schools were searched and several people were interviewed before investigators determined that the threat was not credible.
