Highway 285 near Alamosa back open

Adverse weather conditions have caused a brief road closure near Alamosa Sunday afternoon.

Colorado State Patrol said U.S. Highway 285 was shut down for about an hour near milepost 70 in Saguache County.

The road was closed due to poor visibility and a number of car crashes.

State troopers shared one photo of a car that hit a tow truck that was trying to pull another car from a ditch.

“This is the result of not slowing down when road conditions are bad,” tweeted CSPAlamosa.

Before the closure, there were numerous slide offs and wrecks. State troopers some of the wrecks resulted in injuries.
