29 people arrested in two-state drug bust
The Trinidad Police Department says a drug sweep spanning two states has led to the arrest of nearly 30 people in southern Colorado and northern New Mexico.
“This operation was successful due to the hard work of the detectives and officers involved. Drugs are in every community and our department will continue to make drug enforcement a priority,” said Trinidad Police Chief Charles Glorioso, “I would like to thank Chief Terry Sisneros from the Raton Police Department for their assistance. Having both communities working together and pooling our resources makes operations like this easier.”
The arrests are the result of a four month sting. During the operation, undercover officers purchased methamphetamine, heroin, cocaine, marijuana, narcotic pills and two firearms from various people.
“I would like to thank Chief Glorioso for the opportunity to collaborate on this operation. Since we are so close geographically, we deal with a lot of the same people,” Raton Police Chief Terry Sisneros said, “We will continue to work together to keep both cities safe. I would also like to thank the Trinidad Police Department Detectives for their hard work.”
