Hash oil blamed for Longmont garage explosion

Hash oil is being blamed for a garage explosion in Longmont.

KMGH reports that two men were burned in the explosion Wednesday afternoon (12/18/13). A third man was unhurt.

Investigators say the explosion was caused by extracting hash oil from marijuana by using butane.

Paramedics took two men to Longmont United Hospital – one with severe burns who had to be transferred to a burn unit, and one man who had burns to his face.

Police arrested three men on charges of fourth-degree arson and conspiracy to commit fourth-degree arson. They were not immediately identified.
