Suicide suspected in Ute Pass death
The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office says a body was found off of US 24 west of the Manitou Springs exit Tuesday (12/17/13).
Sheriff’s deputies at the scene told KRDO NewsChannel 13’s Eric Singer that a passerby noticed the body and called 9-1-1.
KRDO NewsChannel 13’s Jonathan Petramala was there when the coroner’s office and metro crime lab vehicles arrived. Jonathan reports that a handgun was found and investigators suspect suicide.
An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday to confirm the cause of death.
