Bomb threat forces school evacuation

An expulsion program facility in Academy School District 20 was evacuated after someone called a bomb threat in to Safe to Tell.

The caller said that there might be two bombs inside the building, which is located at 7408 Duryea Drive.

Colorado Springs Police say that they received the report at 2:10 p.m. on Tuesday, December 17, 2013. The facility was evacuated as a precaution.

Police searched the building inside and out. No bombs were found.

Initial reports that the incident happened at an alternative school proved false. D-20 uses the facility that was evacuated to comply with a state law that requires school districts to offer free education to students who have been expelled from the regular school system.
