Coroner: Woman found dead in Woodland Park died of hypothermia

The Teller County coroner says the woman found dead in the driveway of a home in Woodland Park Saturday morning died of hypothermia.

There is no evidence of foul play in the death of Joey Michelle Carlson, 34.

Police said Carlson was found at about 10:45 a.m. Saturday outside a home in the Forest Edge neighborhood, and that she lived in the neighborhood. A large area around the driveway was sealed off as a crime scene. The Colorado Bureau of Investigation also responded to the scene.

According to a press release from Woodland Park police, all unexplained deaths are treated as suspicious until the cause has been determined.
