Aggies Shut Down Rams Offense

Joey DeMartino ran for 127 yards and a touchdown on a career-high 35 carries as Utah State pushed past Colorado State 13-0 Saturday afternoon.

Nick Diaz also kicked two field goals for the Aggies (7-4, 6-1 Mountain West). It was the first shutout for the USU defense since 2003.

CSU running back Kapri Bibbs led the Rams (6-6, 4-3 MWC) with 54 yards on 18 carries. Both teams combined for only 376 yards total offense.

In a game dominated by field position and defense, the teams combined for 17 punts. Aggie punter Jaron Bentrude had a career-high eight punts placed within the 20-yard line.

CSU quarterback Garret Grayson threw for 147 yards on 16-of-39 passing and was intercepted twice. Grayson was also sacked four times, all in the fourth quarter.

Diaz scored on field goals of 44 and 24 yards. A 33-yard attempt with 2:50 remaining in the game was blocked.
