Update: 2 killed in wreck on MLK Bypass

Two people have been killed in a two car wreck that shut down part of Highway 24 Sunday night.

According to the Colorado Springs Police Department, two cars hit each other around 5 p.m. on the bridge over Circle Drive.

A female driver behind the wheel of a Toyota sedan was pronounced dead at the scene. She has been identified as 27-year-old Sheena Ann Puterbaugh of Colorado Springs.

A female passenger in a Buick was sent to the hospital but died from her injuries. The man driving that car is listed in critical condition and underwent surgery because of his injuries.

West bound Highway 24 was shut down for about five hours while police investigated the crash.
