Trinidad School District Superintendent on paid leave

The superintendent of Trinidad School District was placed on paid administrative leave after a school board meeting on Friday, November 15.

Dr. Manuel Rodriguez was escorted by police from the meeting after the announcement was made.

The secretaryof the board, Jack Vallejos, called the special meeting into session.

Parents and family members of students packed into seats in the meeting hall to hear the decision.

George Dasko, a retired teacher and former board member, will serve as interim superintendent.

Sources toldKRDO a parent’s group has been disastisfied with thewayRodriguez handled finances.

In 2012, a group of parents calling itself “The Concerned Parents and Community of Trinidad,” led a”no confidence”petition drive against the Superintendent.
