FEMA to offer temporary homes for flooding victims

The Federal Emergency Management Agency says it will offer temporary manufactured homes to Colorado residents who have been unable to find housing after last month’s floods.

KUSA-TV reported Thursday that the agency says the 50 HUD-approved homes are needed because of a housing shortage. More than 400 families are still living in hotels.

The temporary homes will be on concrete pads. FEMA officials say the homes will not be the same as those used after Hurricane Katrina.

The agency says the homes are a last resort. The homes will be available in December.
