Skiers are ready for the season

It’s the most wonderful time of the year for most Coloradans.

We’re not talking about the holidays, we’re talking about the beginning of the ski season.

The season looks great if the early trend hold into next Spring. Arapahoe Basin opened one run onSunday. That’s four days earlier than last year and Arapahoe Basin says it’s because of the early snow.

Hearing about the early opening makes ski enthuisiasts in our area rush to get ready for what they hope is a season full of the white stuff.

“We heard the A-basin (Arapahoe Basin) is already open, so we’re hoping to go skiing for the first time,” said Kristina Calabrese.

The seasonal forecast calls for near normal snow totals, which are on average around 100 inches in many ski areas and around 200 inches in others.

Most other ski areas in our state open around November 1st.
