Pumpkins now available at Venetucci Farm

The pumpkin patch at Venetucci Farm opened for business Saturday morning.

Dozens of families searched for that special pumpkin to take home, as they have for decades at the farm off Highway 85/87 near Security.

Pumpkins are sold for 50 cents per pound. One youngster said he was looking for the biggest one he could find.

“I’m going to carve it and then a couple of days before Halloween I’m going to roast the seeds,” said Nathan Moon.

The pumpkin patch will open again Monday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. It will be closed to the public the rest of the week and reopen Saturday. During the week, the farm hosts students from area schools.

Small sugar pie pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns are also available for sale when the farm is open to the public.
