SVP Alert: Daniel Lawrence Murphy

The Colorado Springs Police Department says a sexually violent predator has moved into a neighborhood near Platte and Chelton.

Daniel Lawrence Murphy, 38, is now living in the 3000 block of E. Platte Avenue.

Murphy’s prior convictions include sex abuse, harassment, and forcible touching in New York State. Murphy has also been convicted of failing to register as a sex offender in New York and Colorado.

Murphy is one of thirteen sexually violent predators living in Colorado Springs.

Police are required by law to notify the community whenever a sexually violent predator moves into a new neighborhood.
