Body of 9th Colorado flooding victim identified

A body discovered in Colorado’s Larimer County has been identified as that of a woman who was seen swept away by massive floodwaters on Sept. 13.

The Larimer County coroner said Tuesday the person is 60-year-old Patricia Goodwine of Cedar Grove. The cause of death was drowning.

Goodwine’s body was found Monday in a debris field west of Loveland.

Goodwine was swept away by floodwaters that destroyed the home she had lived in for 37 years.

Her death brings to nine the number of confirmed fatalities in the disaster, which damaged or destroyed nearly 2,000 homes, washed out hundreds of miles of roads and cut off many small mountain towns.

Authorities say there are no remaining missing persons reports related to the September floods.
