Many civilian DOD employees returning to work

Furloughed workers from Peterson Air Force Base and the Air Force Academy will get back to work Monday.

On Sunday, 21st Space Wing leaders announced civilian employees will be back to work starting at 12:01 a.m. A spokesperson for the group could not estimate how many employees were furloughed.

NORAD and U.S. NORTHCOM also announced plans to bring back their furloughed workers Monday. That’s about 700 civilian workers, according to a spokesperson.

Finally, the Air Force Academy said more than 900 furloughed employees will be returning to work Monday.

Lawyers reviewing the Pay Our Military Act determined that most Department of Defense civilians could return to work immediately.
