Man accused of removing bathroom sink to steal from marijuana dispensary

Colorado Springs Police say a man removed a bathroom sink to get into a medical marijuana dispensary.

Police were called to the Organic Seed, 2304 E. Platte Avenue, at 3:15 a.m. on Friday, October 4, 2013 to investigate a burglary.

The suspect, 43-year-old Craig Stevens is accused of accessing the dispensary through a neighboring business.

Police say Stevens went into a bathroom at Birria De Chiva restaurant, removed a sink, and made his way into the neighboring marijuana dispensary. Police say the sink, the wall, and the water shut off valve were damaged.

Police spotted Stevens walking away from the building as they approached. They say he matched the suspect description that was given to them. Stevens was detained and later arrested.

Craig Stevens is facing charges of second degree burglary, criminal mischief, possession of burglary tools, and offenses related to marijuana and theft.

Police say Stevens also had a felony warrant for his arrest.
