15th oil spill due to flooding found near Greeley
Another oil spill due to flooding has been found in northern Colorado.
State regulators said Wednesday that about 1,200 gallons of oil spilled from a PDC Energy location just east of Greeley. It’s the 15th oil spill detected and brings the total amount spilled to about 43,000 gallons. That’s about the amount held by 3 storage tanks.
Inspectors have been checking drilling operations in the Wattenberg Field for two weeks but about 20 percent of the wells still must be inspected.
