Deputies: Pair run over by car after fight at weekend party

A man and woman are recovering after being hit by a car following a fight at a party in Pueblo West.

The incident, which is being described as a hit-and-run by the Pueblo County Sheriff’s Office, happened at 11 p.m. Saturday (9/28/13) in the 200 block of Cokedale Drive.

Deputies say Donald Miller, 27, and Heather Miller, 22, suffered serious injuries when they were hit by a car driven by 24-year-old Michael Browne.

Witnesses told investigators that Browne was attending a party at a home on Cokedale Drive when he got into a fight with another party-goer. They said Browne was chased out of the party and that he ran the Millers over as he drove away.

Browne is facing charges for felony vehicular assault and reckless driving. Browne is also facing a charge of third degree assault related to the fight that happened before the alleged hit-and-run.
