5 dead in Chaffee County rockslide

Authorities confirm five people have died in a rockslide near Buena Vista in Chaffee County.

Chaffee County is located about two hours west of Colorado Springs.

The slide was reported around 11 a.m. Monday (9/30/13). It happened at Agnes Vaille Falls off CR 162 while the group was hiking.

The Associated Press reports that a total of seven hikers were caught up in the slide. Five were killed, a 13-year-old girl was rescued from the slide and taken to the hospital, and a seventh person is missing.
