Springs father arrested on suspicion of child abuse

A Colorado Springs father was arrested Tuesday night (9/24/13) on suspicion of child abuse.

Police were called to Memorial Hospital Monday to investigate a child abuse case. A 5 month old came into the hospital with head trauma.

The Crimes Against Children Unit began its investigation. Detectives learned the child sustained non-accidental head trauma. They identified the suspect and arrested the child’s father, Christopher Mazzarelli, on suspicion of felony child abuse.
