Highway 24 closed Sunday evening

Highway 24 was closed Sunday afternoon because of flood waters breaching the highway and a rockslide near 31st Street according to emergency responders.

Monitor crews spotted water flowing across the road just before 4 p.m.

A flash flood warning is in effect for Manitou Springs through 7 p.m.

Steady rain over the last few days has caused flooding issues across El Paso County.

On Sunday, the heaviest flooding occurred near Powers Blvd. and Barnes Rd but late this afternoon rain picked up over the Manitou Springs and Ute Pass area.
