Fort Carson park looks like lake

Fort Carson got more than its fair share of rain. Iron Horse Park is typically a dry place to play. On Friday (9/13/13), it looked more like a lake.

The post tells us it averages 16 inches of rain a year. More than 11 inches fell there Thursday night alone.

“This is something more along the lines of the east coast hurricane type stuff and we’ve got Lake Iron Horse now. And we just want to make sure people stay safe,” said Fort Carson Maj. Earl Brown.

“I have never seen it like that. It’s extremely deep because that’s a lower part of the park,” said 14-year-old Fort Carson resident Tristan Carrillo.

The park is closed until the water recedes.
